We just wanted to give you an update regarding our plans for a second lockdown

πŸ’‰ All our branches will continue to be open and staffed at their current levels.  We have had the go ahead from our governing body to continue to see most appointments and procedures, however if you are worried about leaving home and wish to delay your animal’s vaccines or neutering appointments then this is not a problem, please give us a call and we can rearrange these for you.   We have a three-month window on most vaccinations so can delay these to a degree if needed.  We will not be performing any nail clipping, anal gland expression or routine health checks outside of vaccination unless there is an animal welfare concern.  πŸ’‰

🍽 We are not expecting any issues with supply of food or medications so please do not feel the need to stock up on these.   If possible please use the Click and Collect service on our website (www.zetlandvets.co.uk) to order your repeat medications or food.  This will help keep our phonelines free for emergency or urgent care. πŸ’Š 

β˜” As the spirit of the lockdown is to try and prevent people mixing, we will once again be restricting access into our buildings.   If necessary to enter the building you will be asked to wear full PPE, including a surgical mask that we will provide.  We therefore ask those clients who are driving to ​make reception aware of their arrival and then wait in their car.   We are aware the weather is not ideal for people on foot, ​so please don't forget your umbrella!  We have a gazebo up in front of our Zetland Road branch and we will ​also have some umbrellas available to you at our other branches (these will be sanitised between uses).  β˜”

☎️ We will once again be offering telephone or video appointments, so if you are shielding or vulnerable we will be ideally assessing your animals via these methods as a first line.  We may ask you to book other routine appointments such as post op checks or more chronic health issues via these routes also, in order to minimise footfall through the practice.  These video appointments with a vet will have a scheduled appointment time slot and be chargeable at our usual consultation fee. πŸ“±

🀝 We would please ask you once again to be patient and kind when discussing any worries you have regarding your pets with our staff.  We aim to continue to provide the best service possible, but please understand some delays may be inevitable and that staff are working as hard as possible behind the scenes to help you.  We know this is a stressful time for everyone but many of the restrictions in place are outside of the control of our staff.  🀝

As we are working with a reduced number of staff across all our branches due to the Coronavirus pandemic, please be mindful that our phone lines are very busy and that your phone calls may not get answered as quickly as normal. If you require flea and worm treatment please email us on enquiries@zetlandvets.co.uk . Please bear with us as if we are not able to answer immediately or if we put you on hold, it means that we are treating a patient at that moment in time. If the query is NOT urgent, you can also email us on enquiries@zetlandvets.co.uk - this is currently our preferred point of contact for non urgent queries as it leaves the phone lines free for emergencies.

Due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, we are currently postponing routine healthcare for your pets, however rest assured that we are still open to provide emergency and urgent care for patients to avoid unnecessary suffering. Our vets will be delivering remote consultations by video initially and can then assess which patients need to be brought into the practice. If you need to collect medication or food please email us on enquiries@zetlandvets.co.uk so we can organise this for you. We will give you details of the social distancing measures that we have in place. We will also be asking you to make any payments online or over the phone to avoid direct contact.
