Find out how acupuncture could help your pet
Here at Zetland Veterinary Group, we provide acupuncture sessions held at our Fishponds branch. These sessions are performed by our head vet Leslie.
What is acupuncture? Acupuncture has been defined as the insertion of a solid needle (that is not an injection needle) into the body for the purpose of therapy, disease prevention or maintenance of health.
How can acupuncture help my pet? Acupuncture has been used in the treatment of many conditions, but here at Zetland Veterinary Group we currently use it mainly in the treatment of chronic pain originating from joints (especially arthritis), muscles and the spine.
Acupuncture provides a fantastic opportunity to provide a complimentary and as such a more holistic approach to common conditions that can have a very dramatic effect on an animal’s quality of life.
How to book my pet in for acupuncture? Acupuncture appointments are booked at our Fishponds branch with one of our vets, Leslie Kenmuir who started doing Acupuncture in 2010 after completing an Acupuncture course presented by ABVA and the WVAG. In most cases, the first 4-6 appointments would be at weekly intervals. After that, the interval gets tapered down to a level that suits the patient.
